News from DIG
As we learned from the website of chapter U23, our member Dieter Dorner, DL1JKK, DIG 6316 , passed away on December 20 of last year. Karl joined the DIG in 2013.
His name and callsign must now be added to the long list of our unforgettable DIG Silent Keys. We will remember him with respect and fond memories.

Upcoming Contest Dates (all times UTC)
Contests generally do not take place on WARC bands.
- The ARRL International DX Contest will take place from Saturday, February 21, 0000 UTC until Sunday, February 22, 2359 UTC, on the bands from 160 to 10 m in CW
- From Saturday, February 21 0600 UTC until Sunday, February 22, 1800 UTC the REF Contest in SSB will take place on the bands from 80 to 10 m.
- At Sunday, February 22 the Radio Telegraphy High Speed Club of 1951 will arrange the HSC-Contest from 1400 to 1700 UTC on the bands from 80 to 10 m – of course in CW, .

- V3, Belize: Uwe, DL8UD is freom February 19. to 26. QRV from Belize again with the call sigh V31KO and in Contest V3O. He will work ont the bands from 60 to 6 m in CW, SSB and FT8. QSL via EA5GL or Clublog OQRS
- TI, Costa Rica: N4YDU will be active in the ARRL CW Contest from February 19 to 22 as TI7W QSL via LoTW.

Diploma 50 years German Antarctic research
February 16. to April 30, 2026
On April 21, 1976, the first German Antarctic station was put into operation in the Schirmacher Oasis. In memory of the achievements of the researchers, this diploma is being issued.
The campaign will start at the same time as the „23rd Antarctic Activity Week“ on February 16., 2026. Foir the diploma will count following call signs:
DAØANT, DM5ØANT and DP5ØANT from February 16. to April 30, 2026
DMØGFS und DP2ØØGVN from April 1 to April 30, 2026

Each of the 5 Stations can be counted once per band, per mode (CW/Phone/Digital) and per month in the period from February 16 untio April 30, 2026. QSOs in CW count for 5 points, in Phone 4 points and in digitalen Betriebsarten 3 poins. To promote the modes RTTY and PSK one additional point will be awarded for the two digital modes.
