News from DIG
The rankings for the W-DIG-M (worked DIG members) have been updated on our website. With 4.600 confirmed contacts, Zdeno, OK1AR, is leading the list and is 100 points ahead of second place, held by our former chairman Hans-Peter, DL9X, and another 800 points ahead of third place, held by Dieter, DK1YP.
This should not discourage anyone, but rather encourage you to apply for the diploma or the stickers. Entry into the rankings is already achieved with 1.100 confirmed contacts.
Upcoming Contest Dates (all times UTC)
Contests generally do not take place on WARC bands.
- The CQ WPX RTTY Contest takes place from Saturday, February 14, 0000 UTC until Sunday, February 15, 2359 UTC on the 80 to 10 m bands in RTTY.
- The first stages of this year’s VFDB Contest will be held on Saturday, February 14: from 0700 to 0859 UTC on 80 m and from 1000 to 1159 UTC on 40 m, both in SSB mode.
- The Dutch VERON society is hosting its PACC Contest from Saturday, February 14, 1200 UTC until Sunday, February 15, 1200 UTC on the 160 to 10 m bands in CW and SSB.
- The RSGB is organizing the first 1.8 MHz Contest on Saturday, February 14, from 2000 to 2300 UTC — as the name suggests, on 160 m in CW and SSB modes.
- On Wednesday, February 18, the AGCW-DL “Schlackertastenabend” (sami automatic key evening) will take place from 1900 to 2030 UTC on 80 and 40 m in CW.

65 Years of G21 Dormagen
Short-term award from January 1 to December 31, 2026
The G21 Dormagen local chapter of DARC is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year. On this occasion, the club station DLØXD is issuing the special DOK 65G21 as part of an anniversary award. The award will be available from January 1 to December 31, 2026.
A total of 15 points must be earned. All bands and modes are permitted. The club station DLØXD counts for 6 points per day and band. Contacts with G21 members count for 3 points per day and band. Anyone who has worked the club station DLØXD and its operator can already log 9 points and only needs 2 additional G21 contacts.
The application log must include the following details: date, time, call sign, band, mode, and name. SWL applications are also welcome. The award will be issued free of charge as a PDF in DIN A4 format and will only be sent by email.

Zoltán Bay Moon Radar 80th Anniversary Activity
Radiaoamateurs all around the globe link Zoltán Bay’s name with succesfull Hungarian Moon radar experiment. On the 6th of February in 1946 Bay and his colleagues in Tungsram Lighting radiated radio signal towards the moon then succesfully detected their own extremely weak reflected signal. In fact they detected the Earth Moon Earth echo. 80 years ago the Moon became our reflector.
The Hungarian Radio Amateur Society (MRASZ) is organizing a radio activity by operating special event callsigns to honor the 80th anniversary of Zoltán Bay and his team’s Moon Radar experiment. Participants can collect points by confirming QSOs with designated special callsigns. Those who meet the requirements will receive a commemorative award in the activity period: February 6, 2026 – February 28, 2026.
EME Confirmation Period: Confirmations for EME contacts are accepted between February 28, 2026, and December 31, 2026 (EME contacts made and verified during this window qualify for the special EME endorsement).
Award Requirements (EU / DX)
Valid call signs: HG80BAY, HG80EARTH, HG80EME, HG80LUNA, HG80MOON and
HG80RADAR. The award is available in two categories based on the participant’s
location: EU or DX. Fellow hams to qualify, must reach the required point total while meeting the minimum requirements for unique callsigns and modes.

QSL: Do not send us QSL. The logs will be uploaded to LOTW furthermore
