News from DIG
From the latest issue of cqDL we learned with great sadness that our member Günter Lindemann, DK7GL, DIG 643, passed away on 29 November of last year. Günter joined the DIG in Munich in 1972 and earned both the DIG Trophy and the CW Plaque.
His name and callsign must now be added to the long list of our unforgettable DIG Silent Keys. We will remember him with respect and fond memories.
QRX
As reported by Janusz, in the past ZS5ADI, DIG 5973, he changed after 27 years in South Africa to Florida, USA and ist now active with the callsighn AKL4JK.
Upcoming Contest Dates (all times UTC)
Contests generally do not take place on WARC bands.
The CW Word Wide 160 m Contest will take place from Friday, January 23, 2200 UTC, until Sunday, January 25, 2200 UTC, on the 160 m band in CW
From Saturday, January 24 0600 UTC until Sunday, January 25, 1800 UTC the REF Contest in CW will take place on the bands from 80 to 10 m.
The British Amateur Radio Teledata Group will arrange the BARTG RTTY Sprint from Saturday, 24, 1200 UTC until Sunday 25, 1159 UTC on the bands from 80 to 10 m.

5H, Tanzania: NK8O is QRV since January 18 in CW, PSK31, FT8 and probably in SSB on the bands from 30 to 10 m with the callsighn 5H3DX. He will stay until February 9. QSL via homecall, OQRS or LoTW.
9X, Rwanda: Jaraöd. DF2WP is currently active again in Rwanda using the callsign 9X2AW. He plans to stay there until February 9. QRV on the bands from 160 to 10m in CW, SSB and FT8/4. QSL via M0OXO OQRS.
H4, Solomon-Islands: DL2GAC is QRV again from January 25 until May 10 as H44MS. QSL via DL2GAC (bureau/direct)
PJ2, Curaçao: Andre, PD1DRE will be QRV from January 26 until March 4 from Curaçao as PJ2/PD1DRE.Operation on 80 to 10 m, SSB, and FT8/4. QSL direct via eQSL
.Haru, JA1XGI, is celebrating his 60 years in amateur radio with the special callsign V65ØXGI from Chuuk Island, OC-011, from January 22 to January 28, 2026. He will be active from 160 to 10 meters using CW, SSB, and digital modes. QSL via JA1XGI or Club Log OQRS.

IPA Radio Club 50 Years – Anniversary Awards for All Radio Amateurs and SWLs
Short-term award valid from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the IPA Radio Club, Section DL (IPARC Germany), we invite all licensed radio amateurs and SWLs worldwide to participate in our anniversary award program. The activity period runs from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.
During this time, various IPA event stations – some using the special DOK 5ØIPAR – as well as the club stations DL0IPA and DL50IPARC will be active on the bands.
Based on contacts with these stations, three award levels can be achieved:
Blue – Basic Award
At least 10 different IPA event stations worked during the activity period.
Silver – IPA Advanced Award
At least 8 different IPA event stations worked using the special DOK 5ØIPAR.
Gold – IPA Gold Award
From April 1, 2026, to November 30, 2026, at least one QSO per month with DL0IPA or DL50IPARC must be documented; multiple QSOs within the same month count only once.
Award checking and validation will be carried out automatically via the online platform Hamawardz. Logs can be uploaded in ADIF format, and participants can view their personal award status at any time.
Further details on the participating stations, the exact rules, and access to the log portal will be published in due course on the website www.iparc.de and through the usual amateur radio channels.
